Spread the Word - LGBT Youth At Risk
Public relations, elections, lawsuits - those are all important battles in this never ending fight for Equality. Ultimately, however, those issues won't mean a thing if we, as LGBT people are not able to accept ourselves for who and what we are.

For many, this is an easy process now. Great strides have been made in the past 30 or 40 years. Heck, great strides have been made in the last 10 years! For many gay, lesbian and bisexual youth in the United States today, though, things have not changed. They still live in a world where they dare not be themselves. They are told every single day that to be "queer" is to be evil, that they are going to hell, that they are perverts, worse than murderers and beyond redemption.

It is people like this that the pop music duo Jason and deMarco are speaking to and for in this video, which was included as a DVD extra with the release of the documentary about them earlier this year, We're All Angels.



As a gay couple in an extremely homophobic music industry who both individually faced enormous challenges as gay teens with religious parents, they understand the challenges facing today's LGBT youth. They speak directly to the issue and offer practical advice and kind words that aren't condescending or preaching, but peers talking about something that they feel and understand.

Please take the time to watch this video for yourself, then help out by spreading the word and sharing this video in as many places as you can. Help get the word out. If just one person, one teen boy or girl out there sees this video and is helped, that makes it all worthwhile. If one family member or friend of a LGBT teen is made aware of what is out there in the way of resources, then it is worth it.

The number of teen suicides in the LGBT community is far, far too high and it just has to stop. We can't stop it over night, but we can help spread the word - this video allows us to do that with eloquence.
